The history of EDITORIAL MÉDICA PANAMERICANA is the story of a family business that in 1953 in Argentina undertook the challenge of satisfying the demand for works in health sciences for Spanish-speaking doctors and students.

In its beginnings EDITORIAL MÉDICA PANAMERICANA published mainly translated books, with the aim of bringing doctors and students the best bibliography of the moment, but reality has shown us that the path is different: in the field of health, the most enriching learning is done through local experience and contact with universities, medical associations, health professionals and booksellers. This conviction has led us to establish the policy of publishing medical books generated in our lands and to commit to the quality of Ibero-American authors who, with their works, contribute to improving the scientific editorial production of the 23 Spanish-speaking countries and Brazil.

EMP has published more than 2,500 titles in the dual scope of basic and clinical disciplines, which make EDITORIAL MÉDICA PANAMERICANA an essential reference in biomedical research and teaching.
